A new challenge for Japan Denim, woven in Paris where the world’s fashion scene gathers, by MOMOTARO JEANS, born in Kojima, Okayama.
We will host the MOMOTARO JEANS “POP-UP STORE PARIS,” conveying the techniques and philosophy of Japanese craftsmanship (monozukuri) through the brand’s first-ever standalone pop-up. The standalone pop-up store will open for a limited time during Fashion Week, from Tuesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 28, 2026.
■ Delivering the Atmosphere of “Okayama and Kojima” Along with Culture and a Lineup that Conveys the Brand’s Essence
At this event, we will sell event-exclusive items, including the brand’s masterpiece “STANDARD,” “EXCLUSIVE (SILK)” which evolves the artisanal techniques of Kojima, Okayama, and “SASHIKO” dyed with genuine indigo. Furthermore, a vintage sewing machine (Union Special) will be set up in the venue to offer on-the-spot high-quality hemming services of Kojima quality.
At the reception, we will serve local sake from the beloved local Kojima brewery “Sankan Shuzo” using traditional Japanese sake barrels and special “Masu” (wooden cups) essential for celebrating new beginnings, and we will also distribute POP-UP exclusive folding fans.
Additionally, to ensure visitors can experience MOMOTARO JEANS’ attitude towards craftsmanship with all their senses, the venue will not rely on superficial Japanese designs. Instead, Matsui Kensetsu has manufactured wooden fixtures in Japan using the traditional “Shiguchi” jointing technique, which uses no screws or nails. These fixtures will be assembled on-site by the “DAIKU ASSOCIATION,” creating a space in Paris where artisanal skills breathe. By experiencing a space that highlights the Kojima food culture, wider local culture, and the craftsmanship behind the denim product, we will deliver the “atmosphere of Kojima” to Paris.

At this pop-up store, we offer a wide selection of items, including tops and denim jackets, meticulously crafted with an unwavering commitment to every detail—from material selection and dyeing to weaving and sewing.
■ About DAIKU ASSOCIATION
An organization based in Paris, France, dedicated to the preservation and popularization of traditional Japanese carpentry techniques (L’Art de la charpenterie Japonaise). They disseminate Japanese architectural philosophy and ecological perspectives in France, including “Kigumi and Shiguchi” techniques that do not use nails or screws. Locally, they invite Japanese artisans and regularly hold practical workshops ranging from marking wood and using hand tools like planes and saws to the collaborative creation of pergolas and micro-architecture. Rather than superficial design, they continue to put the true essence of Japanese “manufacturing culture” into practice within France.
